Jacco Looijen
Technical Engineer

After studying mechanical engineering, Jacco started a traineeship at Kolmer in 2014. As both parties enjoyed the collaboration he then started in a new position as engineer. “I was the first person at Kolmer to draft on a full-time basis. By now there is too much work for just one person! I have a fun and varied job where I make a lot of 3D technical drawings of motors for special projects. In addition, I create technical catalogues, databases for our sales staff and corresponding calculation programmes. In my spare time I like to keep myself busy with computer science and build websites. I also use that knowledge in my work. I like the variety that comes with it.”
Jacco is a quiet person who prefers to wait and see which way the wind blows. He wants to develop himself in his work and sees the growth of the Engineering Department as a nice challenge. Jacco has a critical eye and works on improvements. He’s someone who pays attention to details and is very thorough in his work. “In addition to my regular work, I like to work on projects that improve our processes. We’ve done some great things in recent years and I’m proud of that! Kolmer is a super social organisation with a very nice team.” Jacco lives with his parents, brother, sheep and a dog in Bennekom at a lovely rural location. He likes to play football and doing odd jobs around the house.
