After his construction bench fitter/welder training, Arno set to work in decorative fencing. He ended up at Kolmer in 2010 via an assembly company. Arno has a versatile role within the workshop; tinkering with electric motors, making shafts and special motors, service jobs, deputy workshop manager and quality service. You can occasionally find him abroad when performing work for the breakdown service; adventures he really likes. “I find it important to develop myself and therefore I regularly follow courses on subjects such as frequency converters and electrical and mechanical drive technology. There is still so much to learn about motors and we can put that knowledge to good use within Kolmer. Our customers are central and we rarely say no.”
Arno is a reliable, hardworking colleague with an eye for quality. He is looking for a challenge in his job and likes to work on projects that have never been done before. “Working things out, coming up with a solution for a customer and to then make it work; I can be very proud of that. And then there are my great colleagues, who make this work so much fun as we get along so well together. We’re serious if we have to be, but we can also laugh together. At Kolmer you notice the appreciation for staff. They regularly pay you a compliment and if something occasionally goes wrong, it’s not immediately considered a disaster.” Each day Arno cycles from Putten to Kolmer. In his spare time he likes to work on his ‘Old Timer’ and a rally car in which he participates in a number of races every year.
