From mechanic to workshop manager, that's my career in a nutshell. When I started at Kolmer in 2010, I immediately had a versatile role within the workshop: working on electric motors, making shafts, and so on. We come up with solutions for customers and execute them. It's really cool to do, but it requires expertise. So, we get plenty of opportunities to take courses. I find that very interesting, but not everyone feels the same way. That's why I got the opportunity to write my own teaching material that is more appealing. It's nice that it was possible because my colleagues are actually the best part of this job. We're serious when we need to be, but we also have a lot of laughs. We ask each other for advice, and it's not a disaster if something goes wrong. Everyone has their specialties, and you can tell that they're appreciated at Kolmer.
Hildegard holds a central position as the HR manager at Kolmer. She shares, "People are your most important asset. Of course, you sometimes need to take a business-oriented approach, but the human aspect is at the core here. It starts with showing genuine interest. Every person is different, and things happen in every life. To what extent can we provide support? Going that extra step, that's what it's about."
Kolmer has always had a social character, and I am proud to convey that. Financial results are not the only thing we strive for; someone can make an incredibly valuable contribution to a team simply through their presence and positive aura. Being a good employer is something we genuinely value."
